The $60K Decision that Became ~$200M
In 2005, graffiti artist David Choe took a mural job at Facebook's first office. He was offered two choices for payment: $60,000 in cash or the same value in Facebook stock.
At the time, Facebook looked like just another start-up. Choe didn't even like social media. But after advice from Sean Parker, he chose equity over cash, a bet on the future value his art helped create.
When Facebook went public in 2012, his shares were reportedly worth about $200 million. One decision turned a one-time paycheck into life-changing ownership.
