On November 15th, 2025, graffiti legend Kid PK, known to his followers as Lil’ Mike, put out a call to action on Instagram. While Kid PK has been known for decades for his crazy spots around New Jersey, in this instance he spearheaded a community effort to donate art to sick children. Mike had a plan to turn his Durango into a mobile art gallery, bringing Christmas joy in the form of art toys and prints to kids spending the holiday in the hospital. The ask was simple: artists were needed to donate the works of art that would fill this gallery. At Local Legend Labs, getting involved was an easy decision.

Our mission has always been rooted in artist equity. When we saw artists stepping up to donate their time and creativity, we knew we also had to get involved. We sent some of our collectible graffiti toys to be included in the giveaway. These were pieces created in collaboration with artists, made to be held, displayed, and appreciated. Not everyone can visit a toy store, or attend an art show. This project helped bring art directly to kids who are spending their time in hospital rooms instead of classrooms or playgrounds.

The community’s response to Kid PK’s post was nothing short of incredible. Projects like this highlight something that often goes unnoticed: the graffiti community is deeply supportive. It looks out for its own and for others. It showed how much artists are willing to give when the cause is real and the intention is honest. We’re proud to be connected to a culture that values generosity, creativity, and human connection as much as it values the work itself. Dozens of artists joined the cause, generating over 100 works of art ready to be handed out. Shortly before Christmas, Kid PK rolled up to the hospital with his gallery in tow and made the day of many patients there.

We’re grateful to have played a small part in something that brought real joy to kids during a difficult time, and we’re thankful for the artists who made it possible. Initiatives like this remind us that we’re not in the business of creating designer art toys, we’re in the business of supporting artists and the causes they care about. We’re excited to have many more opportunities to collaborate in ways that feel honest, meaningful, and rooted in respect.
